Shelby is well on her way to her American Championship, with twelve points and both majors earned!  At the January 2010 Show in Anchorage, Shelby earned her second major win (4 points!) under Michelle Billings, a very well known and respected AKC Judge.

Shelby also had a fantastic time at the obedience trials hosted by DOTCA in Anchorage the following weekend.   On Saturday, Shelby finished her second leg of her Rally Advanced title (in second place!) and then she went on to finish her Novice Obedience title (CD for Companion Dog) in style, winning her class and earning the highest scoring Labrador in trial prize!  Then, to cap it all off, she finished her Rally Advanced title on Sunday with a near perfect score of 99!  Wahoo!  Shelby will continue work toward her Junior Hunt title as well as her Rally Excellent title this summer after she recovers from her litter!   She is a busy girl!

At the same show mentioned above, Delta also placed very nicely.  AKC Judge Michelle Billings awarded her Reserve Winner's Bitch, right behind Shelby.  The following day, Delta proved again that she is all grown up by being awarded RWB from AKC Judge Charles Olvis.  Delta has been overshadowed by her big sister in the ring, but she is maturing out nicely and should soon give Shelby a run for her money!

What is great about the photo above is that it is an action shot...  We actually photographed Shelby first while Delta watched.  She was fascinated with the process, especially when the photographer threw the squeaky toy to get the dogs to look in the right direction.  When we switched out dogs to take Delta's picture, I was relaxed and chatting with Ms Billings about our breeding operation, and I wasn't really paying attention to Delta.  She was totally focused on the photographer though and when he threw the squeaky toy, she leaped off the platform and retrieved it nicely!  You can see her starting to crouch down in this picture!
Delta has proven that SHE is the smart one in the family, winning her obedience and rally classes and finishing her Pet Partners evaluation with flying colors!  She will begin her therapy work in hopsitals and nursing homes soon as well as continuing her training for hunt test and Rally Excellent competitions scheduled for this summer!
